PTI government is keen in providing facilities to Pakistanis residing abroad. This will make a sustainable relationship between overseas Pakistanis and the government which will open ways for investment. PTI claimed to take following actions for Overseas Pakistanis:
1.We will ensure voting rights for overseas Pakistanis.
2.We will champion development of financial instruments to create attractive investment opportunities for Overseas Pakistanis.
3.We will strengthen Pakistani embassies to provide emergency relief
4.We will create a virtual investment desk in key embassies
5.We will ensure that like other citizens of Pakistan, overseas Pakistanis have security of titling.
6.We will provide consular and legal services to all Pakistanis jailed abroad.
7.Pakistan’s embassies abroad will be facilitated. Pakistanis who are in jail abroad will be facilitated.
8.Overseas Pakistanis will be provided investment opportunities so that their money is invested in Pakistan.

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) finalised the strategy to allow overseas Pakistanis to vote in upcoming bye-elections in a meeting chaired by Secretary ECP Babar Yaqoob. The registration process will take place from 1st to 15th September.
The task force seemed concerned about the voter buying behavior as it won’t have any mandate to keep a check.

Finance Minister Asad Umer said that a new scheme will be launched to facilitate overseas Pakistanis. Investment bonds will be floated which will help them earn profit and also take their part in strengthening foreign exchange reserves.

They also highlighted the challenges faced by the overseas in the procedures. The participants decided that a think tank will be constituted to work efficiently on the matter.

He also revealed that a 24/7 digital complainant cell ‘Call Sarzameen’ was all set to be launched.
The Ministry is also ready to launch digital system for registration through biometric verification.

He tasked the Overseas Pakistanis Division to conduct a survey of Pakistan labor force, asked National Bank to devise proper mechanism to open Bank accounts and also told FBR and State Bank to propose incentives to promote formal channels.

During his visit to Dubai, Zulfi Bukhari met Dubai police chief Maj Gen Abdullah Khalifa Al Mari and decided to exchange prisoner data through a proper mechanism. They also decided that arrangements would be made for repartition of prisoners who have completed their jail terms.

Chaudhry Waseem Akhtar, Vice-chairperson, Punjab’s Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) showed concern on immediate actions to resolve grievances of Overseas Pakistanis. He called on Zulfi Bukhari to discuss the matter. Waseem Akhtar also said that pending cases will also be solved by fast checking mechanism to facilitate overseas Pakistanis.

Overseas Pakistanis Youth Council (OPYC) is under the process of its completion and soon to be launched under Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF). The aim of this initiative is to connect with young Pakistanis settled abroad and make them aware of the rich and diverse cultural heritage their country has to offer. The project will commence by first hosting 20 students from America, UK and Europe who will visit Peshawar, Islamabad and Lahore.
